Public education of ground forces vehicles, equipment,  and historical experiences

Partner with CAF units with ground assets to help them operate them safely and minimize potential risk

Partner with CAF HQ to develop and implement policies promoting living history at CAF events

The CAF Ground Forces Detachment has started gathering CAF owned/operated ground equipment data to achieve the three goals above. If your unit has not yet provided the data, please use our web site to submit it. You can submit individual equipment online or bulk upload a spreadsheet. (here's a sample)

Here is a collection of pictures from recent events

Our work

These are pieces in the CAF Ground Forces Detachment inventory. Each piece shown here in its current state. The intent is to restore and operate as much of this equipment as possible. Join us and help create the next chapter in each piece's history. You can find much more detail on each piece of equipment on our UNIT EQUIPMENT page.

CLETRAC Aircraft Tug

The Ground Forces Detachment of the Commemorative Air Force was created as a unit to focus on the integration of ground vehicles, living history, and other non-flying activities with traditional CAF flying events. Through this, the public will be able to experience a richer, more diverse perspective of the life and equipment of the Greatest Generation.

Join us and be a part of the ground force movement!
